WEDDINGS

A sociologist by study and a photographer by training, I have more than 25 years of experience as a professional photographer, incorporating both classic and modern styles with an emphasis on photojournalism and documentary photography. This style translates into my work with weddings, portraits and events.

In my approach to wedding photography, I seek to transcend the usual sentimental sameness often seen in wedding photography in order to capture the uniqueness of each person and of each moment (a client’s words, not mine).  To me, a photo needs to reflect the feeling of an authentic moment, and I strive to do this by focusing on how the day expressively unfolds on its own.

It is always my goal to bring those moments back to you in a way that tells the story of your own experience and feelings, while also capturing the moments that you didn’t even know existed, while doing it in a way where you didn’t even know I was there.

I look forward to the challenge of bringing this unique and dedicated style your wedding.

In my non-wedding photography work, I have a focus on human rights issues, and have been exhibited widely throughout the world and across the United States.  I often travel in conjunction with exhibits of my work and to give presentations about the intersection of photography and human rights.

The connection between human rights work and wedding photography? Because LOVE is a HUMAN RIGHT. As Fyodor Dostoevsky once put it, “beauty will save the world.” And likewise, I work with that sentiment at heart – balancing the emotions of the world through the lens of my camera.

For more about me and my general approach, see the ABOUT PAGE. But I'd rather hear from you - and about the wedding you are planning! I hope you will reach out via the CONTACT PAGE.

Below you will find samples of my wedding work.  If you would like to see more, you can check my social media (which I admittedly neglect) on Instagram and Facebook, or find complete weddings on my client proof and order site.
